Seriously! I don’t think I’ve ever gotten wetter, faster, than during the opening moments of the Save Device screen, pressing A and hearing that little blingy noise for the first time in a long while. Instant gratification before I even got into the meat of the game. I didn’t think it would be possible to get anywhere near the original luster of the first Ghostbusters movie, but somehow, some way, Terminal Reality managed to pull a big, fluffy, marshmallow rabbit out of their tiny little hat. Honestly, I thought the only developer that had an outside shot of making a Ghostbusters game that would have been worthwhile was Visceral Games. After what they did with Dead Space, I figured they would have a good shot at making a scary, atmospheric Ghostbusters game. Though, if they had handled it, they might have had too much scary and not enough of that original Ghostbusters comic UMPH, as it were. All in all, I must say Terminal Reality built quite a brilliant game that adheres to the Ghostbusters universe on a level that I didn’t think would be possible for a videogame to do. And even if the cutscenes and animations can’t quite capture the nuance of live-action performances, the quirky, true-to-film feel of the gameplay and voicing more than makes up for it.

No, no, no… THANK YOU, Terminal Reality. I hope they get to make the next inevitable game that will likely be released alongside the 3rd Ghostbusters movie sometime in 2012.

A guide to becoming a gamer... for the uninitiated... who are usually already gamers. Hmmmm, I didn't think this one through. :/

Funny thing I’ve noticed as part of the gaming community…

There are ‘Gamers’- considered by most non-gamers to be consumers of the lowest form on the mainstream media totem pole. Gamers might as well be meth addicts in the eyes of the uninformed masses. Whenever a news story offends tax paying citizens or causes distress, even outrage, among the general public, the videogame community is the ultimate scapegoat, and gamers everywhere get trapped in a very small room with a very large fan, and tons of shit. Did you know terrorists love Xbox? You just never see them playing it because their cave dwellings are too sandy for delicate machines with small moving parts to operate properly. FACT: Even couch potatoes that spend 6 hours a day watching reality TV get more respect than gamers do.

The most notable subset of Gamers are the ‘Hardcore Gamers’ and their core groups, as follows (in no particular order):

There’s the ‘PC Crowd’- They think consoles are “stealing their thunder”. They genuinely believe that console gamers decide which platform a publisher chooses to put out games on. Consider them the ‘l3375′ of gaming as they are generally the most condescending group of gamers out there. They have every right to be, DAMMIT! They spend as much money upgrading their systems for new games as Hollywood royalty spends on adopted children.

Next, the ’360 Fanboys’- Constantly harping about the greatness that is Halo… a series that isn’t all that great, unless you’re going by pure profit and sales charts. This group is generally the mildest of all hardcore gamer groups out there, because they are so hopelessly depressed when they aren’t virtually gunning down everything in sight. They believe that if there isn’t shooting and explosions every 5 seconds, then it’s not a real videogame. Other than that, their only other real gripe is never getting MGS4. It’s their favorite dragon to chase.

Onto the ‘PS3 Fanboys’- If you ever have the unfortunate…erm…misfortune to pick a console argument with these guys, just concede defeat at your earliest opportunity and get on with your life. Otherwise, the PS3 Fanboys won’t let you. With them, there is NO BARGAINING, NO EXCEPTIONS, & NO SURRENDER. PS3 is the console to end all consoles in their eyes, and they will actively hunt down all other gamer groups on forums just to make sure everyone knows it. They are the ultimate Troll/Gamer hybrid, and they show little remorse. Their primary source of energy is called ‘Exclusives’ which they load up on, in preparation for the days coming battles.

Next, you have the ‘Wii-tards’- The only class of gamer that breaks shit because they can’t hold a game controller properly. They make optimists look like Nazis, and they believe that fun games are all about swinging you’re arms like flower children. You could liken them to modern-day hippies, only you would be insulting hippies with such a remark. Wii-tards feverishly defend Nintendo rehashes, calling each and every Zelda title an instant classic, all while parading around a small Italian man with a pornstar moustache on their collective shoulders, as if he were God. They treat any game with motion controls as if it were a blessing sent from the heavens, and the word GIMMICK cannot be translated into their language. Wii players are often forgiven for their gaming transgressions because they’ve given girls in skimpy underwear yet another reason to post themselves all over YouTube.

Can’t forget the ‘Joe Gamer’ group- They find something to love about every system and every game they play. They stick to the middle ground in any game conversation topic, and maintain a level head about all things related to videogames. They are the N.A.T.O. of forum boards and try to keep the other parties in check. They will not hesitate to provide links to information that substantially proves points of contention in heated arguments. They are also vegans and own up to 20 cats each.

‘noObs’- ‘Nuff said.

Finally, we have the not-so-hardcore ‘Casual Gamers’- If hardcore gamers had been the jocks in highschool, casual gamers would have been the nerds. Of course, in the real world, all gamers are nerds, but casual gamers try to balance their “nerdiness” by playing fun, party-style games, that help them stay active and lead productive social lives. If wii-tards are hippies, then casual gamers are scene queens. They use idiotic game ideas as social lubricants so they will be liked by everyone. Afterall, 90% of the games they play have some sort of real-life equivalent that they consider to be a huge waste of time. Who wants to play guitar, baseball, tennis, or go bowling and do exercise, when you can play pushbutton guitar, baseball & tennis without all that unnecessary running, bowling minus the heavy ass ball, and exercise where people can’t see you pouring sweat through your Lycra spandex unitard? They will have their fake fun, and they will force you to have fake fun with them too!

Beyond these major subsets of gamers, there are many other niche factors floating around out there. Almost too many to name. And I’m sure if I tried, I’d definitely miss a few. Heck, there are probably some I’ve never even heard of, and for good reason I’d assume. For any non-gamers out there, trying to decide whether or not to get your game on, I hope this was enlightening.

I examine ways to save the popular game franchise Silent Hill from becoming movie hell...again! I also tell Avary where he can stick that screenplay... and it's every bit as dark as 'Otherworld'.

I say “no thank you, sir.”

The first Silent Hill movie poorly represented the game on almost every level… but the biggest offense was the wretched story that long time fans of the series were forced to swallow and recount as canon for the entire franchise henceforth. Even visually, the movie failed in almost every respect… except Gans did manage to make the ‘nurses’ look pretty damn good. The only true saving grace of the movie was ‘fog town’, which really did portray the atmosphere that is Silent Hill, if only for a few key establishing shots of the town. I would have said the ash flakes were a nice touch until their presence is explained for what it is later in the film. I believe the makers of the film failed when they attempted to justify many of the mystical occurrences that beset Silent Hill.

Anyone who is a fan of the games prior to the movie knows there isn’t an easy explanation for why the town is the way it is. In fact, there is practically no explanation for much of what is happening to the unfortunate souls that find themselves trapped within Silent Hill’s otherworldly realms. Ghosts? Monsters? Alien UFOs? DOG GODS?!! 80% of the horror you experience while playing the games comes from witnessing these incomprehensible events surrounding you, without any real logical understanding of the world you’ve entered into. People tend to fear what they don’t understand, such as, what actually makes Silent Hill tick. It’s very difficult to explain. So naturally, when you take content that could possibly be upsetting for ‘summertime-popcorn flick’ movie-goers, you’re going to cut a lot of corners and severely dumb down material that could otherwise be quite poetic by today’s standards. The film adaptation filters out much of the spiritual and philosophical interpretations of what the town represents, and opts to play it safe with a simple campfire ghost story. Compared to the games, that’s all the first movie aspired to be.

In the second Silent Hill game, a man named James Sunderland wrestles with his inner demons as he is confronted with the memories of his missing wife. He is summoned to the town by a letter she has written and addressed to him, much to his surprise. As you explore Silent Hill’s many locales and meet some of it’s ‘inhabitants’, James begins to peel away the layers of his past. Why is his wife’s disappearance so overtly vexing for him? Turns out that he killed her and his mind hasn’t quite come to terms with his actions yet. It’s a little complicated, but not exactly Shakespeare, I know. Through the lore of Silent Hill, however, it’s eerie manifestations seem to compliment James’ internal struggle, and the story of a conflicted man can be told in a very unorthodox way. Through James’ past actions in the ‘real’ (coherent) world, he showed his true colors in moments of weakness. But his flaws can become his strengths in a place like Silent Hill, allowing him to own up to his previous acts of indiscretion. Wow, story AND character development in a horror game! Who knew?

The town may be a character in its own right, but the people should clearly take priority over scary monsters and bucket loads of blood if the next film aims to accurately display just what Silent Hill is. If that means taking risks and creating a thinking man’s film, for an action man’s audience, then so be it. I wouldn’t mind seeing the characters of the next Silent Hill film done with a bit more of a thoughtful approach, similar to a film like Seven Pounds. That movie had a great conflicted hero archetype which I’d consider to be a much brighter, sunnier version of James Sunderland in many ways.

However, if they are going to make another crap film just to do it, I’d rather see them err on the side of good judgement and intelligent storytelling, even if it doesn’t appeal to the masses. I know a lot of people were unhappy with the ending of the first film, but it was one of the only plot devices that fits the mysterious nature of Silent Hill. Lets face it, the only reason the movie was made is because the games are good. Even great at times (Pyramid Head rape/murdering a mannequin monster in a kitchen sink for no apparent reason still gives me the chills, as do the reinvented ghosts oozing out of the walls from The Room). So maybe the next filmmakers should satisfy gamers’ demands before all others, simply because the games ARE better. Or hell, just give it to J.J. Abrams. He usually doesn’t make a complete mess of things. Here’s hoping that Silent Hill: Shattered Memories on the Wii will give the franchise a proper reboot until the next movie comes along to ruin it all again.

P.S. – By the way, the other 20% of the horror experience is simply the wandering around in the dark, or rather, wondering what might be wandering in the darkness around you. Be advised that my percentage system has a margin of error +/- 6%, for the odd sense of fear mixed with arousal you may experience while playing Homecoming. When one of those nurses awkwardly stumbles toward you, with her extremely low-plunging neckline barely containing her heaving bosoms while she makes wild, slashing gestures at the air hoping to get a piece of Alex and his damn flashlight, you know you should fear the knife. But part of you just can’t help but enjoy the ‘well put-together’ body swinging that blade in front of you with intent to kill… that, or the shameless demoralization of women everywhere that it represents. Or maybe it’s suppose to be empowerment through sexuality, like Catwoman? I don’t know, I’m not a psychologist.

P.S.S. – Beware of Walter Sullivan

According to many new reports and even more angry viewers, TV companies are now intentionally upsetting their loyal customers just for the sheer joy they get when receiving truckloads of hate mail. If you’re a fan of good TV than you already know what I’m talking about. Renewal season is upon us and sunshine is not in the forecast. Much of what we once described as ‘must-see-tv’ has now been replaced with ‘my-tuner-must-be-busted-tv’ , making original, smart, and watchable shows more like rare gems to be unearthed among the crumbled rock that is major network television.

Primetime is now anytime and both networks and advertisers are feeling the pinch. Plagued with shortened season cycles and sudden shifts in time slots, many of the TV shows we love to watch are now becoming exercises in audio-visual torture. Not because they are so bad we can’t stand to watch them anymore. Rather, because they are so good, we can’t stand to wait while execs tinker and toy with the formula. This unusual flux in viewing habits, combined with other factors for how TV is viewed in this new century has given rise to unreliable ratings standards. This forces advertisers to pull out which then forces networks to “trim the fat”, not realizing that a little fat is healthy.

To get to the point, good TV is in danger of becoming no TV. Shows like Chuck, Terminator: the Sarah Conner Chronicles and other well-established primetime series don’t seem to be getting a fair shake despite cries of outrage from viewers that the networks responsible for creating these great shows would even consider cancelling them now. By today’s standards, these are not bad shows. A little pricey to produce perhaps. But well worth it once they go on sale at the local electronics and entertainment retail store. I’m sure network execs don’t see it as quite so cut-&-dry but it’s the truth. Yet, the viewers get punished repeatedly for involving themselves with a show only to have it cancelled because it wasn’t performing up to par with some outdated ratings system.

I get the majority of my television in-take from the internet these days. Any show I’m impressed with, I gladly purchase on DVD when it becomes available. But I’ve seen more and more shows get cancelled before they even get to DVD. Although when these shows do go to store shelves, their sales always seem to skyrocket because of all the media attention they received when they were cancelled. I wouldn’t be surprised if this vicious cycle of TV to DVD was manufactured just to get money without having to invest in a show that could easily go several seasons and build a substantial following. All because sales based on hype alone have such a high payout. There are even several instances where the payout was so good, a TV show was literally resurrected from the grave. Firefly and Family Guy are great examples of this.

Fans are willing to pay to see the shows they love. If networks need that extra boost in cash flow now, instead of later, to keep fans happy and keep quality shows running, then maybe that’s what networks should do . Think of it as TV 2.0, similar to Internet 2.0′s lofty goals. Cable and satellite customers already pay to subscribe to premium and preferred programming. Maybe major networks should take a similar stance on primetime shows with a premium budget. This does work. In fact, I payed for the entire first season of The Big Bang Theory, via Xbox Live, episode by episode as they were offered weekly, the day after airing on TV. Maybe networks should start offering similar functionality directly from their websites. Digital storage is the future afterall. Plus, money NOW means keeping the show going longer to gain better profits from a loyal fanbase in the future. Versus seeing all the profits gained after scrapping a show to recoup costs only to find out that there may have been a market there after all.

Even with vocal fans of great TV, however, the networks are only going to listen to their wallets. So I can only hope their wallets are great fans of TV as well.

Some shows didn’t get a chance to make it to the Upfronts, which is a real shame. But I’d like to take a brief moment to congratulate the network idiots for making TV worse by reminding them of the poor decisions they’ve made. Pushing Daisies cancelled on ABC. As original as a TV show can get these days, it’s reportedly been downgraded to a comic book series after finishing up this season. Atleast give fans of this show something as exciting as the show itself. A movie would have been the prime way to end it. Terminator on FOX Friday nights, with an unproven and somewhat disappointing new series, Dollhouse. FOX might as well have just put both of these in the attic. Hopefully, that reference proves I’ve been watching. The CBS programming in general has never interested me that much. There’s only so much investigative crime drama I can handle in my lifetime, but atleast they are hanging in their with the sitcoms.

NBC gets its own paragraph, because I just couldn’t fit this much stupid on the tail end of that previous paragraph. First, why is Chuck even being considered for cancellation? Second, why is Heroes NOT being considered for cancellation? Third, why isn’t Parks and Recreation called the Office? Fourth, what happens when you clean house on all your quality shows and instead offer Today Show with a side of Jay Leno? Fifth, why is Law & Order seemingly immune from all this cancellation hubbub year after year?

NBC, you are the perpetual retard machine that couldn’t. Sorry, I don’t mean to insult the disabled by likening them to the yahoos at NBC, but with each head-scratching decision they manage to pull out of thin air, I find myself more and more infuriated with their lack of enthusiasm for their own programming. Scrubs was one of the greatest things to ever happen to TV, but you wouldn’t think it based on the way NBC treated that show. It continues to follow its sterling reputation of dry-humping its ratings-favorites to death while not giving its deserving, sleeper-hit shows proper promotion with Chuck. Heroes and Office were both fresh and interesting for their 1st seasons respectively. But Heroes and ‘consistency’ don’t mesh well, and, frankly, I’m tired of being beaten over the head with Office-this and Office-that when all I see on the Office is the same awkward-silence joke scene after scene. Why did NBC think adding government related work would make that formula more funny?

Chuck has demonstrated great consistency per episode and a fair bit more excitement than the Office typically musters. Maybe Chuck isn’t a smash hit, but it makes for excellent TV. Of all the shows being mentioned for cancellation, I’ve noticed the most surprised response among the boards was for Chuck when people learned it was on the list. It should be mentioned that FOX has garnered a bit of hostility for mulling over Terminator as well. Especially after the strong season 2 finale. But FOX is in a much better position with its unstoppable Sunday night line-up and always interesting House M.D. NBC, on the other hand has been trying to make ends meet by throwing out a mix of good and bad then not properly sifting through the wreckage after its all come tumbling to the ground in a raging blaze of confusion and tears. Personally, I feel that the best shows NBC has to offer right now are Chuck and Life. At this point, however, Life would be better served with the title Death. I blame the Crusoe. A show that shouldn’t have even been considered, yet some how nabbed 13 episodes. That venture most likely forced NBC to make more cutbacks.

Those cutbacks are almost as bad as cancellations. Since the writers strike, I’ve noticed that many networks including the major ones really opted for shortened season cycles. If that’s going to be the future of television, might I make a recommendation. Start producing and writing a TV series as a whole. Write a story arc that can be conveniently wrapped up in one season if a second season is not cemented in stone and signed by our founding fathers. I’m tired of these micro-deals and shows literally being cut off mid-season. Then the networks let the writers waste more time and money by scrapping what they filmed and rewriting the show to fit their demands and still please the audience. Trust me, your audience is not pleased, try as you might. They want to see an ending the way it was naturally intended. Sudden plot twists to wrap up a 10 episode story arc in 2 episodes never works. NEVER!

FOR THEIR CONSIDERATION:

If network TV wants to continue having a primetime anything, these are some rules they should abide by as their decreasing audience begins to feel more and more alienated by big-wig decisions:

Follow through! You’ve made a social and financial contract with viewers and advertisers by creating a new show, so make sure you honor that contract on both ends. Stop grabbing at ideas in the dark if it’s too risky. Take a good hard look at what it is you intend to make otherwise your Lost might end up a Crusoe.

Micromanage! If you are going to give me micro-seasons, than make a micro-series. Stop planning big, drawn-out plotlines then saying ”wait ’til next season!”… only to turn around and cancel next season. I wanted to see what Charlie Crews filled his wall with, dammit! Use microtransactions of downloadable episodes to guage audience interest if you have to. TV 2.0!!! Or get funding from advertisers in advance and produce the series or season once you know everything can be accomplished for the story so the audience is satisfied. Product placement. That’s what movie studios do. Know your limits before you commit, no matter how big or small.

Target your audience! Primetimes broad range appeal isn’t the same anymore. There are too many niche groups to account for, including groups that don’t necessarily watch during primetime or on TV as god intended. Make sure you and your advertisers fully understand your true audience before you yank their programming. If you do remove programming, create a network sponsored petition that is legitimate. I’ve found 4 or 5 separate petitions to save Chuck just floating around and I have no idea where they came from or where they are going. And why does NBC need my social security number to save Chuck?

Finally… Make and promote good shows! It’s still the networks job to keep the shows good. If the creators aren’t doing exactly what they set out to do *cough Heroes cough*, then reign ‘em in and whip ‘em into shape again. If a show is doing exactly what it’s suppose to *cough Pushing Daisies cough* and it’s just not working out, then redouble you efforts before you banish them to the grave without giving them 1 minute to explain. I’m sure a lot of push-and-give happens within the business, but outside of self-promoting these shows via ad space during other shows on the same network, clever promotional advertising is nearly non-existent. Occasionally, I’ll catch wind of a new show because of an interview I saw on whatever late night show I happened to watch, but I usually have to actively seek out information on new shows because my brain has tuned out the old school ‘ad-machine’ teasers and corner-of-the-screen graphics in favor of actually watching and enjoying a good TV show.

And that’s the most important thing. That we enjoy what we watch. If networks take away what we enjoy, then why should we watch at all? Perhaps that means restructuring how we watch, but if it allows a more complete and satisfying viewing experience, then I’m all for it.

E3 2009... the console war just got dirty?

Sony could steal the show, this is very true. But not very likely. Sony’s business-like demeanor at the past two E3 shows may have been well fitted to the new format, but it did absolutely nothing for the fans or the gaming community at large (outside of the Sony fanboy crowd). Though PS3 may have some formidable exclusives like Killzone 2 and Little Big Planet with a few more titles on the horizon, Sony definitely still has a very steep hill to climb in order to get back on top (in the American market, anyways). They may have had some “surprises” at GDC, but it wasn’t anything we didn’t see coming. Another Metal Gear project headed by Kojima, possibly featuring Raiden as the new protagonist… wow, you could have knocked me over with a feather. While I’d like to see a new Metal Gear game, could we just please do away with all the recycled characters and get something fresh? Maybe Kojima can find some new inspiration for reinvention, or atleast provide an experience that is equal parts game-to-movie finally. I’m also glad to hear Team ICO is hard at work on, er, something. GDC’s PS3 stories are more ‘tip of the iceberg’ stuff that doesn’t warrant the same shock value as seeing Final Fantasy XIII being announced ‘exclusively’ for PS3… then being taken away by 360. A low blow by anyones standard.

In fact, the GDC story that really stood out in my mind was Microsofts low profile lunch meeting with Blizzard’s Pardo. So they probably weren’t talking shop about a new Xbox console hitting the market by next year, but Microsoft was supposedly talking about the possibilities of developing new methods to interact with games more effectively, be it on PC or console. Speaking of which, you know Nintendo is just waiting to pounce on both of its competitors like a feral ninja with some crazy new Wii contraption straight out of some 80′s arcade scene. Ok, maybe it won’t be as flashy as the 80′s, but Nintendo will certainly have a trick or two up its’ sleeve. The Silent Hill series may finally get it’s next worthy installment on Nintendo’s little wonder to boot.

It’s not like I’m counting Sony out. Hell, I was all over Blu-Ray and complete backwards compatibility was a dream come true, but they’ve made so many misteps and squandered so many golden opportunities that they’ve been forced to pick up slack for it. Home, PS3′s saving grace and theoretical Live-squasher, at this moment, is nothing more than a glorified chat room that found new ways to milk gamers of money through bizarre micro-transactions for virtual pirate garb. If that’s what Sony has to do to support PSN, than the more power to them, but do they really have to insult my intelligence while they do it? Hey, just charge me for online service already! Atleast with Live, I don’t have as many stability issues and time consuming server hunts for supported games. Well I guess you get what you pay for.

From a hardcore gamers perspective, Sony’s lost a large portion of its American market not by being late to the game, but because they weren’t following cultural trends closely enough. More importantly, they just weren’t very progressive and innovative with most of their new, exclusive efforts. If Sony really wants to steal the show at this years E3, God of War III footage isn’t going to cover it. I don’t even know how God of War III was even considered mind blowing news, quite frankly. Who would turn that cash cow into steak with udders that swollen? But with a Ninja Gaiden Sigma II filling my hack&slash needs on the PS3 this fall, I’ll let the God of War fans have their moment. More likely, some MAG in-game footage would be regarded as a highlight of the show without question. In regards to Twisted Metal, I doubt Sony’s constant attempts at cashing in on the glory days of previous franchise hits will ever pay off fully, as shameless as they may be. Eventually, even the nostalgia wears off, and you’re left with a game that had too many lofty expectations placed on it. Much like a large portion of PS3′s starting line-up. Atleast they don’t have a little blue hedgehog as their console mascot. However, the games are only as important as the consoles they represent and Sony, Microsoft, and even Nintendo have to start thinking a little more outside the box, instead of sitting in the box and yelling “Oh, my exclusive is bigger than yours!” Nintendo’s already taken measured steps in new directions with consoles and handhelds, and according to Pardo, Microsoft may be looking to do something similar.

Then again… Mass Effect 2 on PS3. Oooooh, how does that feel Microsoft?

For my first blog, a taste of what is to come... content optional.

Yes, yes… Hello. I have absolutely nothing to blog about, yet. What could I blog about? Well, simple stuff really. Things people talk about everyday. Ahhh, existentialism is a grand topic indeed. Though probably not the best way to start a new blog, especially for a writing enthusiast.

Yes. If you haven’t figured it out already, I am no professional. Hardly a scholar. And certainly not trained to be anything of the sort. Something I think I am quite proud of. And if I think it, I am therefore it. Ermm, that’s not it. Well whatever IT is, I am trying to write a blog… and thoroughly failing at this point. HOORAH!

I find it hard to fathom just how so many writers do it. Journalists and columnists have to come up with elaborate, well-written reports, stories and articles almost everyday. That’s pressure! Especially if you can’t think of anything to write about. If I suffer from even the slightest of mental blocks, I immediately run the risk of endangering countless lives with something my doctor likes to call “rage spirals.” I’m not sure if that is even a real condition as I have yet to find a single medical text referencing it. Nevertheless, you can see where my writing inabilities stem from.

Tangents.

I frequently wander off the path I intended to walk, similar to a fantasy sequence on Scrubs. Needless to say, I, too sometimes leave my audience more confused than satisfied. But I do it because I can. Maybe that makes me a selfish bastard, but so does writing a blog. All bloggers are. Selfish, anyway. I don’t know about bastards. That’s a bit personal. Bloggers write about topics THEY want to discuss and share THEIR thoughts with you, the reader. YOU read them because you want to be entertained, informed, educated, intrigued, up-to-date/or speed, plugged into the loop, hip, dugg, buzzed, mixxed or whatever the current THING is you want to be. Then you go blog about what you just read, and on and on and on.

Perhaps bloggers aren’t totally selfish. They are sharing after all. And most of them don’t even get paid to. It seems selfishly noble to spend that kind of time benefiting others with indulgent rants, insightful quotes, curious quarks, enfuriating opinions and informative findings. Selflessly promoting throughout the online community for the enjoyment of all who read their work. I probably won’t be one of those bloggers. The community is doing just fine without my help. Luckily, there are still plenty of things to blog about on multiple levels as every readers tastes are different.

After giving it some thought, I could safely say my time blogging would be better spent playing video games. So perhaps that’s what I’ll blog about. And movies. And music. And TV shows… the good ones anyway. None of this ‘who won on Idol?’ crap. I will likely not be informative to any capacity as all I can really do is offer opinions. I’m not an investigative journalist. Occasionally, however, a story may come along that stirs me to write about it. It would have to be one hell of a story though. Something so weird, it almost sounds like a work of fiction. Hmmm, like wouldn’t it be strange to hear that a crazy lady swam with polar bears in Berlin. I’m just making that up, of course. There isn’t water in Berlin. But if it had happened, I’d certainly consider blogging about it. Most importantly, I will do my best to blog about absolutely nothing as often as possible. Just as I have done here and now. And we’re back on course.

So with that I will stop here and go tend to my daily business. I feel I’ve written enough according to my word counter and will yield the remainder of your time to Youtube.

Good day.
